Fallen Officers

Over the past 3 years, the Mississippi PBA and now the newly formed Police Benevolent Foundation has given over $85,000 in salary replacement benefits to the families of fallen officers in the state of Mississippi. Perhaps one of our most important goals is to be there to help the families and survivors pick up the pieces after the death of their loved one, our heroes.

Scholarship Recipients 2007

In 2007, the Foundation awarded two scholarships to well deserving youth in Mississippi. Shannon Bugg and Johnny Steverson both receive scholarships to continue their education. The PBF would like to continue to support the educational advancement of Mississippi youth and our goal is to increase the number of participants each year.

Hurricane Katrina Relief

The Foundation has disbursed more than $50,000 to officers and their families. Additionally, we have donated building supplies, food, clothing, and aid to the law enforcement families attempting to rebuild their lives after the devastation. We are proud to have had the opportunity and ability to provide support for officers in Bay St Louis and Gulfport Mississippi who had their entire lives disheveled in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This is why we exist.

The Mississippi Division of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association has acquired approval for the creation of the first Police Benevolent Foundation license plate.  Mississippi residents now have an additional way to show their support for the law enforcement officers who protect our streets.  This new fundraiser has the potential to help the law enforcement officers patrolling our communities, the families of fallen officers, and youth pursuing criminology degrees in college or universities around our great country.  Each of these areas are a founding principle of the Police Benevolent Foundation.

Each tag purchased is only $30.00 and in agreement with the State of Mississippi, the PBF would receive $24.00 from each tag sold.  Before any plate can be printed though, we must first secure 300 pre-orders from Mississippi residents.  That’s why we need your help to make this fundraising campaign a reality.  If you are a PBA member, law enforcement officer, or supporter of law enforcement residing within the state of Mississippi, you can make a difference by simply applying for a PBF tag today.  Please click here to download a tag application form.  Fill this form out and mail it in to us with an enclosed check in the amount of $30.00 made out to the Mississippi PBA. Please send to the following address.

MS Police Benevolent Association/PBF
2155 Highway 42 South
McDonough, GA  30252-7636

Once we meet our initial goal of 300 pre-ordered tags, you will then be notified and told when and where you can pick up your new tag

The Foundation depends on the support of our community to provide services for law enforcement officers and their families.  As a result, we are constantly looking for creative and non-intrusive ways to fund our efforts.
